BURGUNDY
July 6 - 12 (6 nights, 7 days) | 2026
Burgundy (Bourgogne to the Frenchies) is special.
But, you already knew that. What you might not know is the special-ness that has for centuries been a gold star in the global wine community runs much deeper. In fact, pinot noir and chardonnay are merely the cultural amuse bouche to what is the most overwhelming cornucopia of ‘stuff’ France has to offer. You’ve got small town charm, big city wonder, sceanic county roads, morning pastries, evening apéro, and enough beauf bourguignon to fill a cement mixer.
Beneath all of that Francophillic wonder is a rustic, blue-collar ethic of craftsmanship and dedication that is truly something to behold. The people here care. And more than that, they become giddy at the opportunity to share their passions with like-minded visitors. There is beauty in hard work, and it’s never more evident than on the steep slopes of a dewey grand cru vineyard.
It’s pure romance.
This summer The Travel Project is offering a trip to the heart of France unlike any other. This is Burgundy on fire, with a full 7 days and 6 nights of wistful delights to fill your cup for years to come.
Let’s go on a trip.

Where You’re Staying.
Our home for the week is an old winemaker’s house, deliciously revived and restored to its former glory. It’s the perfect balance of contemporary comfort and old-world charm. Here, our days will begin with locally roasted coffee in the garden and end with a glass of wine in our hand and our feet in the pool. La Maison de Pommard is crazy and a place that truly needs to be seen to be believed.

Trip Highlights
This is Burgundy stripped of pretense and steeped in wonder; an invitation to taste, get lost, and slip quietly into the rhythm of French life. Come ready to fall in love with food, wine, people, and the simple act of being alive. A taste of what’s to come:
HOME SWEET HOME: For six nights, we take up residence at La Maison de Pommard, an 18th-century winemaker’s home so achingly beautiful it could make a Condé Nast editor weep into their café crème. Lovingly restored and impossibly charming, it sits in the historic village of Pommard, just a whisper from Beaune, where cobblestones glow at dusk, lamplight spills into the street, and the whole place seems to exhale as time slows to a gentler rhythm.
BURGUNDY UP CLOSE: There will, of course, be the wine—but what is to unfold is an intimate apprenticeship in Burgundy’s beating heart. You’ll leave understanding why Burgundy is less a place and more a feeling and way of life that will stay with you for years to come.
GASTRONOMIC EUPHORIA: Burgundy behaves as though pâté and charcuterie were invented in its honor, and honestly, who are we to argue? Meals will be simple, sensual, and full of soul. Buttery morning pastries and long, languid lunches and dinners will be shared together, and every glass of wine, a moment to connect.
HANDS-ON MOMENTS OF JOIE DE VIVRE: Learn the artisan traditions of Burgundy—its craft, cuisine, and culture—by stepping directly into them. You may find yourself brushing the cool walls of an ancient wine cellar, drifting along a narrow canal as the village wakes, rolling through the countryside the way locals do, or accidentally befriending the cheesemonger who insists you try “just one more.” It’s a masterclass in participation: touching, tasting, creating, and soaking it all in.
DAILY APÉRO: In France, pre-dinner drinks are a way of life and golden hour is non-negotiable. Expect bubbles that dance, snacks that tempt, and conversations that stretch into the night. Suddenly, it will be midnight, and somehow, will feel exactly right.
LUXURY TRANSPORTATION: Yes, we’ll travel the way locals do, sometimes whimsically on two wheels, but mostly you’ll glide between villages in comfort.
A GRAND FINALÉ: Pack something glamorous. A little decadence awaits.
OTHER SECRETS & SURPRISES: The kind of unexpected, quietly cinematic moments that make life feel bigger, and your friends impossibly jealous.
WHY TRAVEL WITH US?
We didn’t choose Burgundy. Burgundy chose us.
Before starting The Travel Project, we had already lived some of our biggest life chapters in Burgundy; A place that has shaped us both. It has always been one of Iza’s first loves, and over time has become ours together. It is where we got married, rented a château and nearly the entire surrounding village, and hosted a three-day celebration in the countryside. So, when we invite you here, it is not as tourists but as people returning to a place that feels like home.
Wine and hospitality has become a defining part of our lives. Iza spent much of her 30s running fatcork, one of the world’s greatest boutique direct-to-consumer wine businesses—with Peter right there beside her. What we bring you now is a blend of our strengths: Iza’s industry expertise and Burgundy lineage, Peter’s creative vision and curiosity, and a shared passion for crafting unforgettable experiences.
For Iza, Burgundy isn’t just a destination. She spent her childhood summers here; it is where her father grew up and where her 95-year-old grandparents still live. It is where she learned to cook, to savor, and to move through the world with more intention. Now, we get to open that doorway for you into a Burgundy most travelers will never know.
What does this mean for you? Access. Stories. Laughter. And genuine friendships that form when you are welcomed as family into a world of farmers, winemakers, cooks, and craftspeople. You will experience Burgundy through local eyes, immersed in the landscapes and traditions that shape it.
What we are really trying to say is: trust us. It is going to be awesome.
