CHAMPAGNE.
Sept 29 - Oct 04 || 2025
6 days, 5 nights
I spun so fast I lost a shoe. Here I was, in full Cinderella swaying back and forth to the music with a half empty bottle of Blanc de Blancs hanging on for dear life in my hand. I looked around in disbelief that only 36 hours earlier, these people were complete strangers. Now, in the warm embrace of dull moonlight, we might as well be family.
I guess that’s why they call it Champagne.

Come with us to Champagne.
This fall, The Travel Project is taking you to a place where history lingers in underground caves, morning mist clings to vines like a whispered promise, and the people making the world’s most celebrated wine still wipe their hands on their jeans before pouring you a glass.
We’ll bring you to cellars older than America as the winemakers pour you a taste straight from the barrel. They’ll talk about how the latest harvest made them weep with joy but also almost killed them.
You’ll stand in chalky soil that’s seen world wars and revolutions, feeling small and significant all at once.
No scripts. No tourist traps. Just long tables filled with laughter, plates of something rich and buttery, and bottles you’ve never heard of but will never forget. You'll drink things you can't pronounce, laugh, and maybe get a little buzzed. You might even find yourself at 2 a.m. toasting to a day you’ll never quite be able to explain.
And that’s just the beginning…

TASTING THE STARS!”

Where You’re Staying.
We’ll be spending five nights in a historic residence in the heart of Champagne’s biggest city, Reims. Résidence Eisenhower sparks that perfect balance between Marie Antoinette and Marie Kondo. Frankly, we’re obsessed. This home base gives us direct access to the comforts of the city, and close proximity to the countryside just outside its walls. It provides the best of all the wonderful worlds Champagne has to offer. ‘Dream’ doesn’t even begin to describe it.
The steam was still rising from the center of my freshly-baked croissant when I see, out of the corner of my eye, George trip and fall over the raised corner of the rug amidst his frantic dash towards the pastry table. He rolled over and after a moment of genuine concern, we all burst into laughter.

Tidy, manicured rows of green velvet as far as the eye could see. This wasn’t my first time driving through wine country, but it was my first time experiencing the majesty of Champagne. As we approached the vineyard a jubilant vigneron with a mile-wide grin and two frosty bottles of bubbles was waiting to greet us. Majesty, indeed.

YES, YOU GET TO HAVE IT ALL
Trip Highlights
This is Champagne unfiltered. Travel like an insider, with enough incredible food, wine, and laughter to fill your memory bank for years to come. Here is just a taste of what to expect:
HOME SWEET HOME: For five nights we will live like royalty at Résidence Eisenhower, a breathtaking 19th-century limestone mansion in the heart of Reims.
UP CLOSE WITH GROWER CHAMPAGNE: This isn’t just a series of wine tours. It’s a personal journey into the heart and soul of Champagne. We will hang out with winemakers as they show us what makes their craft so special.
GASTRONOMIC EUPHORIA: Come hungry. All meals included—flaky croissants, winemaker lunches, and dinners with chefs who worship butter. Every bite tells a story best paired with Champagne.
HANDS-ON EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES: Saber a bottle like a pro, discover the magic of making Champagne, and learn the (slightly dangerous, highly entertaining) art of disgorgement.
DAILY APÉRO: In France, pre-dinner drinks are a way of life. Expect crisp bubbles, absurdly good snacks, and golden-hour vibes that turn into “how is it midnight already?”
LUXURY TRANSPORTATION: Because walking between Champagne villages is so last century.
A GRAND FINALÉ: A little debauchery never hurt anyone. Pack something fancy and don’t ask questions!
OTHER SECRETS & SURPRISES: The kind of moments that will make your social media followers wish they were you.
We tried to keep up as Zellie rushed ahead. She took us into the cave down the dark stone staircase as the air suddenly shifted - cool, damp, and thick with the complex scent of chalk and fermented grapes. We caught up as she held a dusty bottle to the light, expertly explaining to us about all the beautiful transformation happening within.
Oh, by the way, Zellie is the 10-year-old daughter of the winemaker.

We had an hour to kill before dinner. George took my hand as we meandered through the cracked cobblestone streets, necks bent towards the dim purple sky. It wasn’t long before the commotion of two dozen locals drew our group into a nearby café. ‘Deux verres de vin, por favor!’ My gut sank as I immediately realized my Spanish is much better than my French.

WHY TRAVEL WITH US?
We didn't set out to become Champagne-obsessed wine nerds. But between big moves, career shifts, and a year living in a van, we’ve always seemed to allow life to pull us into it’s undertow.
Before we started The Travel Project, Iza spent the better part of her 30s successfully managing fatcork, one of the world’s best direct-to-consumer wine businesses. She focused on celebrating France’s most unique and delicious grower Champagne.
During that time, it wedged its way into both our lives in a very real and all-encompassing sort of way. Add that to nearly two decades of experience in hospitality & design, and what we have is a wealth of knowledge, insider connections, and passion for curating unforgettable experiences.
What does this mean for you? Access. Stories. Laughter. And bubbles—endless perfect bubbles served by the very hands that plucked the grape clusters from the vines. You will get the opportunity to experience Champagne through the eyes of locals, welcomed as friends and immersed in a world of small-batch growers and breathtaking vineyards.
What we’re really trying to say is: trust us. It’s going to be awesome.
SAY YES.
Fill out this form to reserve your spot. The venue sleeps a limited number of people and we are taking reservations on a first come first serve basis.
Once we have your reservation request, we will send a link for a down payment of 20% of the total trip cost. Please inquire for further information on pricing, what’s included, payment schedule and cancellation policy.
If you have any burning questions, or simply want to say ‘hi,’ please feel free to drop us a line, too!
Seriously, we can’t wait to travel with y’all.
Merci!
-Peter and Iza
As we walked back to our room we listened as familiar voices slowly faded down the old Baroque hallway. Soon, we were met with a cool pillow and the soft buzz of reminiscence. What a day. What a place. After a few moments of excitement for the possibilities of tomorrow, George and I exchanged a quick look and drifted off to sleep.
